Cottage Pie Welcome to my new series, 30 days of family dinners on a budget. I find it really satisfying home cooking and saving money by not eating out and this comforting cottage pie is the perfect way to end a long busy day. It serves up to 6 people and comes in at less than $5 a serve. I buy lots of in season vegetables, grate them and cook them down with the beef mince so that they melt into the most delicious, yet simple gravy. The entire thing is topped with creamy mashed potato and baked in the oven. It's a simple, wholesome recipe and a meal that the kids love. An added bonus is that leftovers can be frozen which means no waste! Save this one for when you next need some dinner inspiration.
